Mash Vass
About the Host
Mash Vass is an artist, educator, and facilitator committed to nurturing creativity and self-expression through her workshops. She believes in the transformative power of art — not only as a personal practice but as a means of fostering connection, dialogue, and self-discovery.
Drawing inspiration from artists such as Frida Kahlo, Lee Krasner, and Hannah Höch, Mash blends their influence with her own lived experiences to explore themes of life and death, the masculine and feminine, and the movement of the human body. Her primary medium is collage, often integrating her own photography and ink work, resulting in evocative and layered compositions that invite personal reflection.
Her artistic journey has led her to international recognition, with her work featured in exhibitions and online publications worldwide. She has participated in prestigious artist residencies, including the Mudhouse Art Residency in Crete, the Iris Artist Program and SkopArt Residency in Greece, and the Château Orquevaux Artist Residency in France.
Mash’s facilitation is rooted in the belief that art is an act of storytelling, offering individuals a way to process emotions, communicate authentically, and explore their unique identities. Having experienced profound personal loss at a young age, she brings a deep sense of empathy and emotional awareness to her workshops, creating spaces where participants can engage with their experiences in new and meaningful ways. As a child of an immigrant family, she also honours her Greek heritage through her work, weaving history, memory, and cultural identity into both her art and her teaching.
